Spring is the time when the world begins to open again for us, and what better way to celebrate this than by planning to travel – or at least spending an hour and a half or so transported to various parts of the world.
The evening’s entertainment will consist of two halves, each of about 40 minutes.
The first half will be a miscellany of items in the style of our former presentations, as most recently last March with The Crazy English Weather - readings, snippets, anecdotes, factoids and semi-dramatisations, this time on the theme of global travel.
In the second half there will be a platform presentation of the fastest version of Jules Verne’s Around the World in 80 Days that you are likely to behold. Neil King will play Phileas Fogg, Richard Avery will play Passepartout, and all the other parts will be played by Alison Shaw.
